My name is Chessie.  My siblings and I were  were found on a doorstep in a box.  We were pretty little, and  were put into a foster home, where we were loved and taken care of.  Our foster family provided us all the things kittens need to grow up healthy, well socialized and happy and to be ready to bring joy to a forever family of our own.  When I was ready for adoption I was returned to the shelter.  The Fat Cat people heard about us and came to the shelter and took us in.  Now we're looking for our forever home.

There were three of us in my litter, a sister (Dixiana) and a brother named Caboose (he was a Manx) who was quickly adopted.  I loved my littermates, especially my sister.  I love to be with humans and will follow them everywhere.  I give great head butts and am skilled at weaving between a human’s legs.  I will climb pant legs if I want to be picked up and you aren’t paying attention to me.  I am very quick and love to dart and run.  I am a very good climber and can reach high places with ease. I am a very confident kitten and adapt well to any new circumstance.

My favorite toy is a little fur mouse, I growl when I am playing with one.  I also love a small piece of rabbit fur (the size of a cotton ball) that my foster mom attached to a piece of thin elastic and tied up where I can bat it.  I like the way it flies.  I play for hours with the “Under Cover Mouse” toy.  I loved my kitty tunnel too.  My foster home was like a kitty Disneyland.

I understand “kitty, kitty, kitty,” and come running when called.  I also recognize the sound of my foster mom fixing me a bowl of kitty food and am right there to help her get ready to feed us.  I meow instructions while she works---mostly I tell her to hurry up.

I had free run of my foster home but preferred to be where ever my humans were.  Dixiana and I were constant companions and very bonded to each other.

I lived with dogs in my foster home.  They were our best friends and sometimes we slept curled up with them.  I often shared the big Boxer’s food bowl.
